April 6, 2010 - Have you met Ray Lujan, VT Engineering Manager?
Allow me to introduce you to him and to provide you a little background.
Mr. Lujan joined VisionTEK as a Software Engineer in 2001 and currently has over 12 years of software development experience.
 Mr. Lujan currently holds the position of Software Engineering Manager where he is responsible for managing the VisionTEK Engineering team; working with our customers to provide support, enhancements and customer-driven deliverables for the VisionTEK mobile public safety software applications. Prior to joining VisionTEK, Mr. Lujan was the Chief Technology Officer at Sykes Enterprises where he was responsible for the research and development of new technologies and the streamlining and integration of existing technologies. Mr. Lujan attended Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado and Metropolitan State College of Denver, Colorado.
We are very fortunate to have him here at VisionTEK and leading our Engineering team!
January 11, 2010 - Have you met Glen Rhodes?
Allow me to introduce you to Glen Rhodes, VisionTEK Senior Software Engineer. Glen joined VisionTEK as a Software Engineer in 2000, and now has nearly twelve years of public safety software development experience.
 In his current position, Glen is responsible for leading the development of VisionTEK software products, including extensive involvement with the new FrontLine Freedom product suite. Glen leads other VisionTEK developers through the implementation and development cycles on many complex engineering projects. In this key role he analyzes, designs, implements and documents new functionality and features for VisionTEK products, ensuring high quality deliverables. Prior to VisionTEK, Glen was a Project Lead and Software Engineer for HTE-UCS, Inc. Glen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Regis University, Denver, CO.
In addition to his many talents as a Software Engineer, Glen is well known (at least within the walls of VisionTEK), for his fabulous Green Chili. Glen shared first place honors with Randy Pierce (another VT Senior Software Engineer) in this year’s annual Chili Cook-off. If you ask nicely, he may share his secret recipe with you!
August 8, 2009 - VisionTEK Introduces Patrick Dawson, Sr. Software Architect
Patrick Dawson joined VisionTEK as Sr. Software Architect in 2009 with more than twenty years software development experience including designing and implementing web-based applications and Windows desktop applications, database development, project development at all levels of the software development life cycle, team mentoring and leadership. Prior to joining VisionTEK, Mr. Dawson was self-employed as a software engineering Consultant. Mr. Dawson was also employed by Hart InterCivic as a key player in the rapid development of their Ballot Origination Software System. In addition, Mr. Dawson was a Senior Architect at ContentStack and a Senior Software Engineer at Aegis Analytical. Mr. Dawson spent nine years in the Marines, attended Coleman College and is a Sun Certified Programmer. Welcome to the VisionTEK team Patrick!
July 7, 2009 - "VisionTEK, this is Melissa"
Who is the person behind that bubbly, cheery voice that answers the VisionTEK Support line and helps you with your questions and issues? That person is Melissa Robbins, VisionTEK Software Support Engineer.
 Melissa Robbins has been with VisionTEK for nearly four years and we could not be more thrilled to have her as part of the support team. Melissa began her tenure at VisionTEK as a Project Software Engineer. She started by working on all of our major projects developing field-based reporting applications, server-side applications and printed reports. She quickly transitioned her skills to support and maintenance projects working on customer issues, designing and developing product enhancements and deploying software. By then, we could see Melissa’s customer skills were shining bright and she transitioned into the role of VisionTEK Software Support Engineer.
Since you all talk to her regularly and work so closely with her, we thought you would be interested in learning a bit more about the person behind the voice. To that end, we asked Melissa a few questions about herself.
March 17, 2009 - Chris Marchetti joins VisionTEK Sales Team
VisionTEK, a leading mobile data software solutions provider for first responders, announced Chris Marchetti has joined the VisionTEK Sales team. Chris comes to VisionTEK as the Regional Sales Manager for the Central Division.
 Mr. Marchetti has over fourteen years experience in software sales that include electronic commerce, EDI, document management, collaboration management and asset management. Most recently, Mr. Marchetti was employed by ViewCentral Corporation as a Sales Representative responsible for selling web based solutions that automate the management of collaborative events. He also was employed by NET delivery Corporation where he was a Senior Sales Executive responsible for the development of the marketing and sales strategy for the national commercial market and public safety market for web based eForms software applications. Chris also sold solutions to include Electronic Document Management and Delivery, Intelligent Electronic Forms and Secure Messaging. Mr. Marchetti served as Director, Sales-Marketing-Business Development for Virtual Portal Systems and Senior Account Manager at Harbinger Corporation. Mr. Marchetti holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor's Degree from Salisbury University, Franklin P. Perdue School of Business.
Dec 20, 2008 - Introducing Ivo Karadjov - Director, Product Management and Marketing
 Mr. Karadjov has eight years of product management and software implementation experience in the Public Safety industry. Previously, Mr. Karadjov was employed by SpireLine Systems where he was Director, Product Management responsible for product management direction, planning and execution. Prior to this, Mr. Karadjov held positions at Patron Systems/NETdelivery as Director of Product Management, Director of Professional Services and Sales Engineer. In these positions, he successfully created and managed product lines, professional services engagements and customer deliverables. Mr. Karadjov holds a Bachelor's Degree from New Bulgarian University.

April 2, 2008 - Leveraging the talent within: VisionTEK has restructured its workforce
In an effort to focus on new product development and industry technologies, VisionTEK has reorganized its operations team. The operations team now falls under the direction of Sheri Sarno, Vice President of Operations.
Jennifer Downing is the new Quality Assurance and Configuration Management Manager, with responsibility for all Quality Assurance and Configuration Management activities for VisionTEK. The operations team is thrilled to have Jennifer back in this role. Her attention to detail, technical acumen and depth of experience with VisionTEK products will ensure both aspects of the organization continue to follow best practices and utilize state of the art technologies to ensure delivery of quality products to our customers.
Justyn Davidson now leads the New Product Development Engineering team. The New Product Development Engineering team is making tremendous progress in the development of new products and applications for VisionTEK. This team has been chartered with developing:
- Next generation FrontLine Querying, Messaging and Mapping
- Handheld application for first responder query access
- eCitation for handheld devices
- Next generation field reporting, including agency-customizable forms and toolkit
VisionTEK promoted Ray Lujan to Project Engineering Manager. Ray’s extensive background with software development, management and VisionTEK applications, makes him the perfect candidate for this position. The Project Engineering team will focus their efforts on project development, product enhancements, customer change orders, and improved customer support.
The Customer Satisfaction team is honored to have Melissa Robbins officially transition from the Engineering department to their team as Customer Support Engineer. Working directly with the Customer Satisfaction team, as a dedicated resource, enables VisionTEK to expeditiously respond to customer issues, obtain clarity, and implement resolutions quickly. This organizational change enables VisionTEK to continue to direct efforts toward world class customer service and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is obtained.
