Located In a Mobile Unit Near You: FrontLine Now Supports GPS and AVL
VisionTEK is proud to announce their FrontLine Mobile Data and Field Based Reporting Software now supports TAIP (Trimble ASCII) protocol compatible GPS (Global Positioning System) hardware and AVL (Automatic Vehicle Locator) communications. The latest FrontLine Mobile client provides an easy-to-use configuration tool that allows Information Technology staff as well as police officers in the field to quickly configure how a vehicle's GPS hardware and the installed FrontLine client communicate and share information with each other. After FrontLine is configured to communicate with the GPS hardware, users can import the latitude and longitude of the present incident location transmitted by the mobile GPS hardware into FrontLine field based reports. Additionally, the current GPS generated coordinates can be transmitted by FrontLine to a dispatch center's Automatic Vehicle Locator mapping function which allows dispatch to see exactly where a law enforcement unit is located at any given time.
